Can you be an engineer and an artist at the same time? A technician and a creator? At Icam, the answer is a resounding yes. And this is demonstrated by the new issue of our magazine Icam Liaisons n°208, available today in digital version, and very soon in the mailboxes of our alumni.

An inspired and inspiring number

This issue celebrates the art professions, professions driven by passion, guided by gesture and nurtured by exacting standards. Painters, sculptors, ceramists, actors, designers, art restorers, jewelers, cabinetmakers... all have one thing in common: a love of work well done, of sublimated materials, and of the meaning conveyed through each work.

They are also singular life paths, sometimes unexpected, but always driven by a quest: to create, to transmit, to move.

The engineer-artisan, an Icam figure?

It's no coincidence that Icam has the word Art in its name. From the outset, the school has valued technical rigor, of course, but also creativity, personal expression and human development. Even today, art is an integral part of our training, particularly through drama and technical projects, which often become works of art in themselves.

This issue is an opportunity to discover alumni who have chosen to make art their full-time profession or passion. Through rich and moving testimonials, this issue invites you to rethink the boundaries between engineering and artistic creation.

Testimonials, reconversions and spiritual insights

In this issue, you'll discover the journey of Bernard Utard, passionate about the art of foundry work, and that of Pierre-Alexandre Collomb, Jesuit and Icam graduate, who shares his views on painting, spirituality and beauty through an inspiring podcast and article.

But above all, this issue is a mosaic of life stories, where we talk as much about technique as emotion, innovation as tradition.

Not to be missed

Are you an engineer, art lover or simply curious? This issue is for you. It'll give you a new perspective on your skills and creativity, and may even awaken in you a new desire, a passion to explore.
