Numerous media and Internet platforms are surfing on the quest for meaning, filling their columns with testimonials of radical change. Perhaps too much so. The environmental transition is not the prerogative of a few; it concerns all sectors and all professions. The changes to which alumni are committed are also taking place more discreetly.

The alumni network is a valuable resource for understanding the range of possibilities and accessing first-hand information. Broadly speaking, we can identify 3 main types of profile, within which we can find a wide variety of career paths.

  • Alumni who, from the start of their studies, have focused their career on a profession or sector dedicated to the environment: energy, air, water, waste, etc. The skills they have acquired through their experience are directly linked to the needs of these sectors or professions.

  • The Alumni, who works outside the strict environmental sector, whose sector is progressively integrating environmental issues, with a potentially strong impact. Their job requires them to develop their skills in the field; they can measure the evolution of their sector in relation to these issues, and the positioning of companies in their sector on the subject.
  • Finally, Alumni who are "branching out" and training for a new profession, are creating or looking for a company whose values and organization are explicitly focused on the environmental transition.

This last case, which is often the only one covered by the media because it is more spectacular, is perhaps not the most frequent. The risks involved are greater from the outset, and require a high degree of personal discernment.

The next Mardi Vie Pro, on Tuesday December 12 at 6.15pm, in visio-zoom, will feature Mathilde BERTUZZO (116 Toulouse), Stéphane BALLEVRE ( 95 Lille) and Nicolas PROQUIN (108 Vendée), who will illustrate these three career paths respectively. We will also benefit from the viewpoint ofAline LE BOHEC (101 Nantes), an HR consultant at the interface between candidates and employers, on these subjects in particular.
