Apec has just published its "hors-series" on promising executive jobs in 2024, based on an analysis of executive job offers published on its website between 2020 and 2023.

The study distinguishes three main types of profession:

  • Heavyweight" professions, with a volume of offers in 2023 equal to or greater than 5,000,
  • Formula 1" trades, with a volume of 1,000 or more offers in 2023, and whose annual growth in 2023 versus 2022 is among the highest (over +5% versus -12% for all offers).
  • Last but not least, the "HGV" and "Formula 1" professions, where the volume of vacancies in 2023 is greater than or equal to 5,000, and where annual growth in 2023 versus 2022 is greater than or equal to 5%.

While the momentum of executive job vacancies has slowed markedly in 2023 (-12% compared to 2022), we can see that the HGV professions are virtually unchanged from the previous study. Design draughtsman has been included in the Top 17, while recruitment manager is no longer included. Three quarters of the Top 21 "Formula 1" professions have been renewed compared to the previous edition, with many more engineering, R&D, maintenance, process and methods professions.
