Editorial

Following requests from some of you, we are publishing the first fully digital edition of Icam Liaisons, issue 209N. You'll have a chance to share your thoughts on this inaugural digital version via a survey about its format and content (see page 31).

With this digital format, we were able to add videos and external links, giving you the opportunity to dive deeper into the articles and related topics. An English version of this edition will be distributed to English-speaking international campuses, and the French version to the French-speaking ones.
In this issue of Icam Liaisons, we invite you to revisit and expand upon the topic of artificial intelligence first covered in December 2018 , by exploring how various forms of AI have evolved and by focusing specifically on generative AI.

AI is an extension of our dreams, a hand reaching out into the unknown. It whispers new languages to our engineers, offers doctors clearer insight into life, and gives researchers wings to cross the frontiers of possibility. Yet some may feel uneasy about it, and through several articles, we aim to demystify the topic.

AI doesn't replace humans - it reveals, enhances, and uplifts them.
After an introductory theoretical section, this issue includes a variety of inspiring testimonials from Jesuits, Icam researchers, and alumni about AI applications across diverse sectors such as healthcare, automotive, religion, business, and cybersecurity. We also look into AI's impact on the jobs of tomorrow and the future structure of organizations. We hope to provide a positive perspective on AI, while acknowledging real challenges such as equity, social divides, and ethics. AI must be used-but we must remain in control.
