Icam links : Artificial Intelligence, Icam is present

01 December 2018

Editorial

Data is now increasingly processed exponentially, using algorithms. Machines are becoming "intelligent", and man wants and needs to retain control. This is the challenge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in a disruptive environment.
AI is taking root in our lives: shape and voice recognition, healthcare and diagnostics, mobility and autonomous vehicles, distribution, security, industry, education, office automation, defense, banking...
AI is a technique, but man could dream of it reinforcing or taking over from the brain.
All Icam are concerned to testify and act, so that AI respects our private lives, and still allows us to dream and create. This issue 193 of Icam liaisons (IL) should fascinate you and invite you to keep an eye open in a rapidly changing world.
Icam alumni and students, strengthened by their Jesuit values - which we will be highlighting in future issues of IL through a "Spirituality" section - must continue their actions to revitalize dynamics and make better use of their natural intelligence.
Icam continues its international expansion. Two new destinations are being studied: Kinshasa in Congo, and Recife in Brazil. Our association is also growing, with all our students joining us over the past year.
It is currently working on the subjects of the offer, communication and animation of the large alumni network, following the results of the study of the expression of expectations which is the subject of a separate issue.
In this issue, you'll also find an enlightening summary of the IL survey on our beautiful magazine... as well as testimonials and a portrait.
Please do not hesitate to send your comments to me or to Bernard Soret, IL's new editor-in-chief (bernard.soret@live.fr).

Best regards,

Jean-Yves Le Cuziat ( 82 IL)
President, Icam Engineers Association
